COMÈTE —
BY Rosie Dalton

Shower of Stars
by Rosie Dalton

‘I wanted to cover women in constellations. Stars! (...) See these comets, where the head glitters on a shoulder, and the sparkling tail slips behind the shoulders to fall back down in a shower of stars on the chest…’

— Coco Chanel

Gabrielle Chanel was convinced that the comet possessed magical powers. It was, to her, an eternal symbol of luck and chance, which remains omnipresent throughout the language of the House.

Its latest incarnation in the CHANEL universe comes in the form of a very special parfum release. Comète is the latest olfactory identity in the LES EXCLUSIFS DE CHANEL fragrance collection.

Here, Rosie Dalton muses on the scent through the medium of poetry.

Warm and musky on the skin
like bathing in pure moonlight

Notes of iris and powder
for a sensual aura

As magical powers
light the night

A beguiling twinkle
infinite, like the stars all around

This singular comète
traces its way across the night sky

A universe unto itself
fine fragrance as a language of the self
